Smarter, Cleaner Tag cloud*

We, at stockezy, have been toying around for a while with the idea of better organizing content and improving our user interaction based on the positive feedback we have received so far. It’s quite encouraging and motivating. (Thank You!)

We have also realized that due to the surge in the content and traffic, it’s time that we made our tag cloud of stocks and keywords that our community has been contributing more effective. We have spent quite a lot of effort in making it smarter and non-linear. Also, the tag cloud location has been shifted to the bottom to make it more prominent so that we can better utilize the screen real-estate for some upcoming features that will take the user experience to a completely different level.

With that we present to you — the new tag cloud!

* Tag cloud [from Wikipedia]

A tag cloud or word cloud (or weighted list in visual design) is a visual depiction of user-generated tags, or simply the word content of a site, used typically to describe the content of web sites. Tags are usually single words and are typically listed alphabetically, and the importance of a tag is shown with font size or color.[1] Thus both finding a tag by alphabet and by popularity is possible. The tags are usually hyperlinks that lead to a collection of items that are associated with a tag.

What does it mean to stockezy users?

  • You can brand your news, opinion or stock pick with certain labels to be categorized in the right word bucket.
  • E.g.: if you are looking for all “Nifty” related news or opinions, clicking on “Nifty” on the cloud would take you to that listing. Similarly, finding all “SATYAMCOM” related stock picks using the cloud.
  • The weight of the font is related to the number of instances of these keywords, albeit not linearly.
